The model allows the specifying of the following patient characteristics:
- duration of diabetes
- blood pressure (systolic, diastolic and MAP)
Definition of therapy effects
Currently the definition of therapy effects only allows the input of a change in HbA1c and blood pressure that is constant over time. To achieve a more realistic model of a therapy, the therapy effect should be modelled as time-dependent allowing to change the values over time.
Additionally, it might be worthwhile modelling the patient's other characteristics as variable over time as well.
Like for regression coefficients, the disease model has a restricted range of validity. Most diabetes studies cover the age range of patients between 50 and 75 years.
Currently the model works with the age range between 45 and 75 years.
