[edit] Test of Framingham Formula

The implemented Framingham Formula is based on: Philip A Wolf, Ralph B. et al. "Probability of Stroke : A Risk Profile from the Framingham Study"


We have did the following for our tests:

  • input validity:
    • We compared the model documentation with the original reference and the implementation in order to detect possible deviations.
    • Then we checked whether all parameters and the formula were properly used with the model.
  • the result was positive.
  • then we compared to our implementation to the published results from other working groups:

http://www.bnk.de/transfer/stroke.htm and http://www.medibrief.de/index5.htm we noted only small divergence between the calculated stroke results.

In order to learn more about the nature of differences in the calculated outcomes we contacted the authors from Medibrief.
